Ground Interface
Precision-ground glass sleeve structures surrounding a central stem form a wide-area liquid junction for electrochemical reference electrodes. Application of a sleeve junction reference electrode provides a high electrolyte outflow rate that resists clogging in dirty or high-viscosity textile processing liquids. The large contact area ensures stable electrical potential even in suspensions containing high concentrations of lint, pigments or emulsified oils.
Purge Flow
Electrolyte flows through a microscopic ground-glass interface between the inner stem and outer ground sleeve under head pressure. High volumetric outflow continually flushes the junction interface, preventing sample ingress and junction fouling.
Paste Resistance
Continuous monitoring of sticky sizing pastes, thick pigment print pastes and oily finishing emulsions causes rapid failure of standard ceramic frit electrodes. Utilizing a sleeve junction assembly allows continuous pH measurement in heavily loaded chemical baths without signal drift or frequent sensor cleaning. Mill technicians easily flush and refresh the junction interface by loosening the outer sleeve, allowing fresh electrolyte to purge contaminated contacts.
Fast response times and resistance to fouling make sleeve designs ideal for automated chemical preparation tanks in printworks and finishing plants.
Reservoir Consumption
High electrolyte flow rates consume internal bridge solution rapidly, requiring frequent electrolyte reservoir replenishment. Loose fitting sleeves risk excessive electrolyte leakage into sample streams, contaminating delicate process liquors. Manual adjustment of sleeve tightness requires operator skill to maintain consistent electrolyte flow rates without causing physical leakage.
