Measuring Instrument
Flow measurement devices that utilize Faraday’s law of induction monitor the volume and rate of conductive dye liquids pumped to the pad box. An electromagnetic mass flowmeter provides real-time data on the liquid supply to ensure accurate chemical dosing. It has no moving parts in the flow path, which prevents clogging by suspended dye particles.
This makes it highly reliable for textile finishing lines.
Measurement Mechanism
Passing a conductive fluid through a magnetic field generates a voltage proportional to the velocity of the flow. The electromagnetic mass flowmeter detects this voltage using electrodes mounted on opposite sides of the flow tube. The internal microprocessor then calculates the mass flow rate by combining the measured velocity with the fluid density.
This method provides highly accurate readings despite changes in fluid viscosity.
Dosing Automation
Continuous dyeing ranges use computerized dosing units to adjust the feed rate of chemicals based on fabric speed. The electromagnetic mass flowmeter acts as the primary feedback sensor in this closed-loop control system. It allows the system to make rapid adjustments to the dosing pumps when the textile line accelerates.
This minimizes shade variation and reduces chemical waste.
Fluid Requirement
Non-conductive fluids such as pure organic solvents or oils cannot generate the required voltage. The instrument cannot measure these liquids accurately.
