Junction Configuration
Specialized liquid junctions provide a reliable electrolyte flow even when measuring challenging industrial liquids. The implementation of a ground glass sleeve electrode ensures a continuous, high-volume flow of electrolyte into the surrounding sample. This mechanism utilizes a removable sleeve that creates a thin, uniform circular pathway around the glass body.
Flow Regulation
The mechanical seal between the ground glass surfaces controls the diffusion rate of the internal filling solution. In a ground glass sleeve electrode, this design produces a stable junction potential and resists clogging far better than porous ceramic junctions. Because the sleeve can be slipped off, the junction is easy to clean and regenerate when working with thick sizing starches or viscous finishing chemicals.
Textile Application
Applying this sensor technology to wet processing environments helps solve the chronic problem of erratic pH readings caused by dirty, oil-filled liquids. Standard electrodes fail when oils or polymers coat the junction, which stops current flow and causes the pH reading to drift. Using a ground glass sleeve electrode in these demanding conditions protects the analytical equipment and yields reproducible data during scour or bleach cycles.
Cleaning Procedure
Routine maintenance requires flushing the sleeve and replacing the reference electrolyte. This simple process restores the sensor to its factory state without requiring aggressive chemical treatment. Consistent performance prevents batch failures during fabric finishing.
