Pressure Vessel
Dyeing equipment for synthetic fabrics operates at temperatures above the boiling point of water in a sealed system. In a high temperature jet, the fabric rope is transported by a pressurized stream of dye liquor through a Venturi tube. This arrangement allows polyester to be dyed without the need for carrier chemicals that harm the environment.
It enables the temperature to reach one hundred and thirty degrees Celsius, which is necessary for disperse dyes to penetrate the polyester fibers.
Liquid Movement
High pressure pumps force the liquid through a nozzle to create a velocity that propels the fabric rope. The circulation speed of the liquor determines the rate of dye uptake and prevents unlevel coloration. Pressure gauges and automated control valves manage the balance between fabric movement and liquor flow.
Fabric Suitability
Dense polyester weaves and tight knits benefit from the deep dye penetration achieved under high pressure. This equipment is less suitable for delicate silk or fine wool fibers that cannot tolerate high heat and mechanical agitation. Synthetic blends are processed efficiently because the polyester fibers open up at high temperatures.
Energy Impact
Closed systems conserve heat and reduce the total energy required to complete the dyeing cycle. Less steam is wasted because the pressurized vessel holds the heat throughout the treatment process. This reduction in water and energy usage improves the overall cost structure of the finishing mill.
