Finish Mechanism
Pressure application systems regulate dye liquor distribution across open width textile substrates during continuous processing. A padding mangle forces liquid into fibre interstices as fabric passes through two or more counter rotating rollers. The load exerted at the nip point determines the wet pick up percentage for the material, which influences subsequent drying requirements and final colour uniformity.
Mechanical pressure must remain consistent across the full roller width to prevent edge to centre shading.
Liquor Control
Effective chemical exhaustion depends on the precise gap maintained between the rubber coated rollers of a padding mangle. Hydraulic rams or pneumatic cylinders provide the force necessary to squeeze excess solution from the textile before it enters the heat chamber. Variations in roll hardness or surface wear impact the uniformity of the squeeze, creating density deviations in the finished goods.
Regular calibration of these internal forces keeps the chemical add on within tolerance limits for industrial quality standards.
Fabric Interaction
Natural fibres possess higher absorbency than synthetic filaments, requiring adjustments to the nip pressure during the padding mangle operation. Heavy cotton twills hold more volume than lightweight polyester, changing the squeeze force necessary to achieve target wet pick up. Roller speed must sync with downstream drying capacity to prevent puddling or excessive dwell times in the trough.
Improper synchronization creates tension issues, leading to permanent fabric deformation or uneven dye migration.
Production Reliability
Operational stability of a padding mangle governs the consistency of long run finishing batches. Constant monitoring of the liquor level in the feed trough maintains a steady state for chemical concentration. Fluctuations in pump rate or roller rotation speed result in irregular moisture content, which complicates the fixation process in continuous steamers or curing units.
Reliable performance of this equipment guarantees uniform chemical application across the entire length of the production lot.
