Flow Restriction
Narrowed section of a pipe designed to accelerate fluid velocity and reduce pressure is the critical component for chemical induction. In wet processing machinery, venturi throat creates a localized vacuum that draws dyes or liquid finishing agents into the main recirculation flow without the need for a secondary dosing pump. This design improves the mixing of chemicals before they reach the fabric.
Chemical Dosing
Engineering teams select this passive suction system to ensure reliable dye dosing in high-temperature jet machines. If the venturi throat is sized incorrectly, the suction force is too weak, which leads to slow chemical intake and uneven coloration. It provides a highly reliable, wear-free mixing solution.
Venturi Mechanism
Liquid flowing through the pipe is forced to accelerate as it enters the narrow section of the tube. This acceleration causes a drop in fluid pressure, creating a low-pressure zone at the narrowest point of the neck. An inlet line connected to this point draws the liquid chemical from a side tank into the high-speed stream.
The rate of chemical induction is regulated by a valve on the inlet line and the flow rate through the main pipe. This allows for precise, gradual addition of salt, soda ash, or dye, ensuring that the chemical is evenly distributed throughout the batch.
Process Consistency
Machine maintenance requires keeping this restriction free from solid salt build-up or chemical scale. Any deposit changes the dimensions of the throat and reduces the suction efficiency. Regular rinsing and cleaning maintain consistent dosing performance.
