Filter Efficiency
A performance classification describes a specific level of air and liquid flow through a technical or filtration fabric. The designation porosity grade 3 represents a medium-level resistance structure designed to capture particulate matter while allowing a controlled flow rate. It is used to specify and select fabrics for industrial filters and environmental dust collectors where fine debris must be isolated.
The classification applies to woven and nonwoven synthetic fabrics but excludes impermeable synthetic sheets.
Pore Classification
Fabrics with this rating have a carefully controlled pore size distribution that balance flow and filtration. This balance prevents fine dust from passing through while avoiding high pressure buildup across the filter. The rating is verified using specialized air and water flow testers.
Transmission Velocity
Quality control teams measure the air flow velocity at a set pressure to confirm the fabric meets the requirements. If the porosity is too high, the filter will not capture the particles, while low porosity causes clogging. The standard ensures consistent fabric performance.
Performance Level
Industrial users select this grade for applications like dust collection and air intake systems where moderate flow is required. This grade provides a balance between filter life and efficiency. The classification applies to woven and nonwoven synthetic fabrics.
