Cleaning Sequence

Industrial scouring trains move the wool through a series of bowls containing hot water and detergents. The resulting scoured wool is then dried to a specific moisture level to prevent the growth of bacteria or mold during storage. Technicians measure the residual grease content to ensure it falls below the threshold required for high quality dyeing.

Value Indicator

Brightness and the absence of vegetable matter define the market value of the fiber after the wash. Since scoured wool is much lighter than the original greasy fleece, the yield calculation determines the final price paid to the grower. Buyers inspect the samples for fiber breakage or matting that may have occurred during the agitation of the scouring process.

Production Readiness

Processed fiber is ready for the application of spinning lubricants before it enters the drawing frames. Consistent scoured wool quality is the prerequisite for producing uniform yarn with high tensile strength.
