Controlled Feed
Automated addition of chemicals or dyes into a treatment bath occurs along a calculated curve rather than at a constant rate. In exponential dosing, the concentration of the added substance increases slowly at first and then rises rapidly toward the end of the process. This pattern matches the acceleration of the chemical reaction or the absorption rate of the fibre.
Dynamic Calibration
Standard dosing pumps use programmed profiles that adjust the feed rate based on the specific dye-fibre combination and the temperature of the bath. The initial slow introduction prevents localized over-saturation and uneven dye strike on the outer layers of the fabric roll. As the accessible dye sites on the fibre become occupied, the rate increases to force the remaining dye into the substrate.
Levelling Improvement
This progressive feed mechanism is particularly effective for sensitive reactive and acid dyeing systems where early rapid absorption leads to blotchy, unlevel results. By stretching the addition time across a non-linear scale, the dye molecules have sufficient time to migrate and distribute evenly across the yarn packages before the bath reaches its maximum exhaustion point.
Process Safety
This automated method minimizes the risk of sudden pH or electrolyte changes that could destabilize the dye dispersion.
