Production Document
Production tracking documents follow a specific batch of fabric through every stage of the manufacturing process. A mill traveler card records the technical settings, operator names and inspection results as the material moves from knitting or weaving to dyeing and finishing. This physical or digital record serves as the primary source of truth for the history of that specific fabric roll.
Process Control
Each department adds data to the mill traveler card to confirm that the fabric met the required specifications at each checkpoint. If the dyeing stage requires a specific temperature, the actual reading is noted on the card for later verification. This ensures that any deviation from the standard operating procedure is caught before the fabric reaches the cutting table or the final warehouse.
Quality Assurance
Quality managers review the mill traveler card during final inspection to ensure all tests were passed and all treatments were applied. The card contains the results of shrinkage tests, colorfastness checks and weight measurements. Without this document, a mill cannot prove that the fabric was produced according to the buyer’s specific instructions or technical requirements for performance.
Audit Trail
Verified cards prove compliance. Records support quality claims.
