Composite Material
Flexible textile construction consisting of several sheets of polyvinyl chloride bonded to a woven or non-woven core. Multi-layer vinyl laminate provides enhanced waterproofing and durability compared to single-pass coating methods. It combines aesthetic surface finishes with technical support layers to withstand repetitive mechanical stress.
Adhesion Bond
Thermal rollers or adhesive primers ensure that the individual plies of the multi-layer vinyl laminate do not separate under pressure. Delamination is typically verified using peel strength tests performed at standard intervals across the fabric roll. Each layer serves a specific role such as providing pigmentation or resisting mold growth.
Application Scope
Products like gym mats and heavy-duty truck covers utilize these materials for their puncture resistance and easy maintenance. The thickness of the multi-layer vinyl laminate is controlled by the calibration of the extrusion or calendering machinery. Varying the substrate type allows manufacturers to adjust the drape and stretch of the finished product.
Thermal Behavior
Excessive heat during storage can lead to the migration of components between the separate sheets. This potentially compromises the stability of the stack and alters the overall stiffness of the composite. Quality checks confirm that the heat sealing zones maintain their integrity across the whole surface.
