Cleaning System
Cleaning systems remove contaminants from raw cotton tufts early in the yarn manufacturing process. An optical sorting blowroom uses high speed cameras to scan the falling fiber for discolored or synthetic particles. This automated stage protects the downstream spinning equipment from damage and prevents defects in the final yarn.
Separation Mechanism
Pneumatic valves eject identified contaminants into a waste collection bin with minimal loss of good fiber. The system processes thousands of tufts per minute as they travel through the ductwork. Light sources in an optical sorting blowroom are optimized to highlight the contrast between the white cotton and the darker impurities.
This early intervention reduces the load on subsequent cleaning machines.
Machine Configuration
Equipment is typically installed after the initial opening and before the carding stage. Integrating the sorter at this point ensures that the cotton is sufficiently opened to reveal hidden trash. Modular designs allow mills to add more sensors as the quality of raw cotton fluctuates.
Purity Requirement
Achievement of high quality yarn grades depends on the thorough removal of foreign matter in the early stages. Reducing the contaminant load before the fiber reaches the spinning frame minimizes the frequency of yarn breaks. Clean fiber results in fabric that is free from dark spots after the dyeing process.
