Fluid System
The flow dynamics of pressurized dye liquor moving through a tapered tube create a low-pressure zone that pulls and transports fabric ropes in jet dyeing machines. This hydrodynamic principle, referred to as venturi nozzle hydraulics, is fundamental to the transport of delicate or heavy knitted and woven fabrics during wet processing.
Flow Mechanism
A contraction in the pipe accelerates the liquid stream while reducing its pressure. This pressure drop sucks the fabric rope through the nozzle, while the high-velocity liquid stream propels the textile through the transport tube. The venturi nozzle hydraulics ensure that the fabric is moved by fluid force alone, which reduces surface abrasion and prevents mechanical tangling.
Because the fluid pressure is distributed evenly around the fabric rope, the risk of creasing or bruising the fibers is minimized, which is especially important for delicate polyester or nylon blends.
Velocity Optimization
Adjusting the pump pressure and nozzle diameter regulates the velocity of the liquid. Proper tuning of the fluid flow ensures that the fabric rope moves at a speed that matches the dye cycle, which prevents dye unevenness. Insufficient pressure can cause the fabric to stall in the nozzle, resulting in localized dye spots and fabric damage.
Process Reliability
Consistent pump pressure is required to maintain the stability of the transport system. Monitoring the pressure drop across the nozzle allows operators to detect blocks or fluctuations in the dyeing machine.
