Industrial Hardware
Industrial recycling hardware installed at the mill discharge comprises systems designed to capture and reprocess manufacturing byproducts. A waste recovery unit typically handles heat or chemical solvents that would otherwise be lost to the environment. These systems are sized according to the peak flow rates of the dyeing or finishing lines they support.
Heat Reclamation
Thermal energy accounts for a large portion of operational costs in fabric finishing. The waste recovery unit uses plate heat exchangers to transfer energy from hot effluent to incoming cold fresh water. This process reduces the boiler load and stabilizes the temperature of the wash water.
Chemical Capture
Caustic recovery systems in mercerization plants represent a specialized application of this technology. By concentrating dilute wash water through evaporation, the waste recovery unit allows the mill to reuse sodium hydroxide.
Volume Management
Effective operation depends on the filtration of lint and suspended solids before they enter the heat exchange surfaces. If the waste recovery unit becomes fouled with fibers, the efficiency of energy transfer drops rapidly. Regular backwashing of filters and chemical cleaning of plates maintain the throughput required for continuous production.
Automated sensors monitor the pressure differential across the filters to trigger cleaning cycles without operator intervention.
