Dispensing Instrument
Industrial dosing equipment provides precise weight-controlled delivery of raw polymer chips or additives to extrusion lines. Utilizing a gravimetric feeder ensures that masterbatch colorants are mixed into the melted synthetic polymer at an exact ratio. Synthetic fibre mills depend on this accuracy to prevent shade variation across different yarn batches.
Operational Physics
A load cell continuously monitors the weight of the feed hopper as material is discharged by a rotating screw. Continuous feedback loops adjust the screw speed to compensate for density shifts.
Process Advantage
Modern spinning lines achieve superior shade consistency by using these active dosing systems. By regulating feed rates in real-time, the extruder receives a perfectly uniform blend of raw polyester and liquid dye. This control minimizes dye waste during product transitions.
System Boundary
Sticky or cohesive powders can cause bridging within the feed hopper and disrupt the gravimetric flow. When the discharge rate drops below a preset limit, the system alerts the plant operator to clear the blockage. Regular calibration of the load cells is required to maintain dispensing precision.
If the load cells drift even slightly, the blend ratio will deviate from the specification and lead to yarn defects that cannot be corrected downstream.
