Continuous Color Tracking
Real-time reflectance monitoring during continuous dyeing or finishing ensures immediate detection of shade drift along the fabric roll. An online spectrophotometer measures the color of the moving fabric directly on the production range without stopping the machine or cutting physical swatches. It provides a continuous data stream that allows operators to make immediate dye feed adjustments.
Color Measurement Execution
Non-contact optical sensors mounted on a traverse system move back and forth across the width of the moving fabric web to capture spectral data. The online spectrophotometer uses pulsed xenon lamps or light-emitting diodes to illuminate the fabric and measure the reflected light across the visible spectrum. This instrumentation converts the spectral reflectance into digital color coordinates, comparing them against the target standard in real time.
Dyehouse Process Optimization
Continuous tracking reduces the amount of off-shade fabric produced during start-up or during transitions between different fabric rolls. When the system detects a shade shift, it alerts the kitchen to adjust the dye concentrations in the pad box or feed tank. This active feedback loop minimizes chemical waste.
Batch Uniformity Records
End-of-roll reports generate a complete color profile of the entire batch, documenting shade consistency from end to end and from side to centre. These digital records provide a reliable quality audit for the buyer.
