Sensing Mechanism
Optical monitoring hardware in textile sorting systems relies on continuous light transmission to detect yarn contamination. Automated optical clearers employ air curtain optics to prevent airborne lint from obstructing the lens during high-speed winding. This configuration ensures that dust does not generate false defects in the detection zone.
Dust Protection
Continuous flow barrier technology shields sensitive lenses from the highly fibrous environment of a yarn spinning mill. Standard optical sensors often accumulate micro-fibres, which degrade signal clarity and cause false ejector actions. By utilizing air curtain optics, the system maintains a clean pathway for the measuring light beam without frequent manual cleaning.
Sorting Accuracy
Measurement precision rises when the sensor remains free of contamination. Yarn clearing systems with air curtain optics achieve consistent defect classification by maintaining a stable baseline voltage in the receiver circuitry. When lint accumulates, the sensor falsely triggers, which reduces winding efficiency through unnecessary stoppages.
Airflow Threshold
Compressed air delivery must remain within specified pressure limits to avoid yarn deflection. In systems employing air curtain optics, a low-pressure air stream of approximately zero point two bar creates the barrier. If the pressure exceeds this limit, the air stream disturbs the yarn path and introduces false variance into the tension measurements.
Correct calibration ensures that the air volume prevents particle deposition without altering the yarn path or introducing aerodynamic drag during spinning.
