Mass Concentration
Fluctuations in the weight per unit volume of a liquid chemical preparation alter the volumetric delivery of active finishing agents during high speed wet processing. Chemically, fluid density variation arises from temperature shifts or uneven emulsion mixing during continuous pad dyeing. Consistency is verified at the preparation tank before delivery.
Dyeing Uniformity
Delivery of inconsistent density to the spray or padding system results in uneven chemical uptake across the width of the fabric. In continuous dye ranges, a steady density ensures the target pickup matches the calculation. If the density decreases, the total mass of the dyestuff deposited on the polyester or cotton fibres drops, causing a lighter shade across the batch.
Pad bath temperatures must remain stable to prevent these shifts.
Process Control
Monitoring is performed using inline coriolis meters that continuously calculate density and mass flow rates simultaneously. Standard practice requires manual spindle hydrometer checks at twenty degrees Celsius before bulk run approval. Corrective actions include automatic dosing adjustments or jacketed mixing vessels.
Boundary Condition
Thermal limits of the carrier fluid dictate the range where this analysis remains valid. At temperatures exceeding eighty degrees Celsius, rapid evaporation alters the solids ratio, rendering the initial baseline calibration inaccurate for long runs.
