Continuous Dyeing
Continuous thermofixation processing passes padded textile webs through sequential drying and high-temperature heat zones to drive disperse dyes into synthetic fibres. Production sequences designated as pad dry thermosol perform rapid dye application on polyester and polyester blend woven goods at high operational speeds. This continuous process integrates pad liquor impregnation, infrared pre-drying, hot air drying, and thermosol oven fixation operating between two hundred and two hundred and twenty degrees Celsius.
Heat-sensitive natural fibres degrade if subjected to thermosol processing conditions without blend protection.
Thermal Fixation
Passing the continuous fabric web through the thermosol chamber expands the amorphous regions of polyester fibres for twenty to forty seconds. In pad dry thermosol operations, solid disperse dye particles deposited on fibre surfaces sublime into gas phase and dissolve directly into the open polymer matrix. Rapid cooling seals dye molecules inside the synthetic polymer structure upon exit from the heating zone.
Precise velocity and air temperature control eliminate side-to-centre shade variation across wide fabric rolls.
Fixation Verification
Spectrophotometric shade evaluation compares production fabric against target colorimetric standards under standardized light sources. Fastness testing following ISO 105-C06 verifies wash fastness values on pad dry thermosol processed fabrics.
Substrate Limitation
Fabric constructions with high elastomeric content suffer severe elasticity loss at elevated thermosol temperatures. Spandex blends require alternative low-temperature exhaust dyeing methods to avoid heat degradation.
