Dosing Accuracy
Mechanical adjustment dial used to set the travel distance of a piston in a metering pump. Using a stroke length micrometer allows for the precise delivery of liquid chemicals by changing the volume of fluid displaced in each cycle. The adjustment range is restricted by the physical dimensions of the pump housing and the crank mechanism.
Distance Control
Precise settings on the dial correspond to specific percentages of the total pump capacity. When the stroke length micrometer is adjusted, the volume of dye or finishing agent changes proportionally. The level of control is necessary for maintaining the correct chemical concentrations in a continuous dyeing range.
Operational Range
Turning the knob moves a mechanical stop that limits the backward movement of the plunger. A small change in the setting results in a measurable difference in the output of the machine.
Physical Limit
Linear scales on the handle provide a visual reference for the operator to verify the current setting. If the stroke length micrometer is set too low, the pump may lose its ability to overcome the discharge pressure. Regular calibration ensures that the numbers on the dial remain accurate over years of heavy use.
