Processing Service
A manufacturing service provides textile dyeing and finishing on yarn or fabric owned by a third party. Through commission dyeing, apparel brands or fabric converters use specialized dyehouses to apply custom colors without owning chemical infrastructure. The customer supplies the greige fabric and pays only for the chemical application and thermal processing.
Chemical Performance
Technical execution of the wet treatment requires strict adherence to brand color standards and wash fastness requirements. The processor uses its own dye formulations, auxiliaries, and machinery to achieve the specified pantone shades. If a dye lot fails to meet the required rub fastness, the facility must adjust the recipe and reprocess the goods at its own cost.
Weight Tolerance
Natural variations in greige yield mean that finished output weights fluctuate. The contract specifies a shrink tolerance.
Color Match
Colorimeters measure the spectral difference between the approved master sample and the production lot to ensure consistency. When a color deviation exceeds the allowed delta E limit, the commission dyeing facility must perform a corrective stripping and redyeing cycle. This correction must be managed carefully to avoid degrading the tensile strength of the cotton or synthetic fibres, which would cause the finished garments to fail durability testing.
